When f**k up becomes our reality - real life stories

It was supposed to be our next hit for you this summer... It had, because it won't be. It won't because there is no material. There is no material, because we got defective knitwear. There will be no swimsuits "Simple as That" vol.2. At least not this season ;)

How often does something happen in your life that you have no control over? Or you have influence, but the sequence of events is so complicated that something unexpected and not necessarily desirable at the moment comes out.

Just people

We have already written a lot of beautiful, positive stories. About dealing with different situations. We love to talk about our successes and share the successes of our friends. But Second You are people. Not only those here in Wrocław. They are people from all over Poland, and often also from Europe and the world. People who are just people, who make mistakes and they are dependent on external factors. Today we show the challenges and difficulties that we overcome every day in the production and sale of sportswear.

Changes, bubbles and halted production

Defective material is not our only problem. After all, EVERYTHING depends on the material! Without the right material, we will not provide you with the best clothes, the ones we used to create. Whenever we can, we go to the manufacturer to see the fabric/knitwear, ask about the raw materials, their origin and choose the best available option. If the material works well in use, we are happy to come back to it and repeat the purchase. However... it happens that it is not exactly the same material anymore. It turns out that the manufacturer introduces changes that are not changes related to the composition, but changes that cause a different appearance or behaviour of the material. The shade may be different, which is of great importance in the case of our designs and prints. Colour fastness and resistance to discoloration may also be different. We then reproach ourselves that we could have stocked up. But where to store it all? We do not have huge halls and warehouses. We work locally and not on a huge scale.

It also happens that a sample of material that goes to the office and a batch of theoretically the same one that is sent directly to the sewing room is different. Well, that's a total failure...

You know, here in Wrocław we do our utmost so that the quality of our products is as high as possible. And the look, and comfort, and usability. Well, everything. And here someone from the outside is just trying to jive us. We try to catch all the duds, but because of such situations, production is often delayed or, as in the latter case, stopped

When the crops failed

Hey, that's not all. You can deal with the low quality of the material if you notice it at the beginning of cutting in the sewing room - and here a big thanks to the perceptive seamstresses, because without them the financial losses would be huge. However, if the material comes the greatest of the wonderful and with the mind’s eyes we can already see beautiful sets - leggings with tops, but in the cutting room they will speed up and cut everything into leggings... there is no turning back. We are left with leggings without the possibility of combining them with tops, because there is simply no material left. Yes, we had such a situation a few years ago and we are still suffering from its consequences, because we got so many extra leggings and "0" tops that we still have a lot of the first ones in stock. Do you know which leggings these are? We invite you to shop.

Not enough “real life stories”? Read on!

Do you think the sale of clothes is/could be seasonal?
If your answer to this question was "Yes", then you are right. After all, who will come up with the idea to sell swimsuits in late autumn and winter, and quilted leggings in spring?
Now, if you thought of Second You, that's also the correct answer. We definitely preferred to release the outfits in the autumn and the leggings in the spring, rather than having them sit in a warehouse and no one knew about them.

And you know what? They sold very well ;) And the photo session of the costume with a frozen waterfall in the background is rather unforgettable :) It was enough to find an ice swimming model (thanks Agnieszka!) and the effect was really successful! :)

Now we have no secrets from each other ;)

Gratitude

We are aware and are extremely grateful that we have a community of women around us who willingly choose Second You clothes, and they are women who are able to forgive us a lot. However, we also know that, like us, you focus on high-quality products. And we are doing our best to provide you with such and we will continue to do so.

And since our intentions are our own, and life is its own, we will continue to face challenges, learn from mistakes, try not to make new ones and move forward.
